Smartphone maker Vivo launched its 500th exclusive store in India on the 9th(Wednesday) of December. The brand has added more than 150 stores this year, and as of now, Vivo has a wide network of stores, branched out in more than 280 cities in India covering major Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities. Vivo was first launched in India in the year 2012, and in eight years the company has grown significantly in the country.


Nipun Marya, Director-Brand Strategy, Vivo India, said, “We are pleased to achieve this milestone of 500 exclusive stores in India. We believe that the offline channel is preferred by customers, as they like to experience the product before making a purchase decision. To amplify customer buying experience in the store, “Multiple zones have been added in these exclusive stores where customers can experience – live demo of Vivo smartphones with a touch-enabled LED screen along with a separate accessory and IoT zone,” Vivo said. They also have gaming, VR, and customer interaction to enable a meaningful, overall engagement in the stores. With no compromise in hygiene or social distancing norms.

According to market research firm GFK(Growth from knowledge), Vivo clocked a 28 percent market share by volume in the second quarter of 2020 making it the largest brand in India (by volume) in mainline retail.


With the huge success in retail stores, Vivo plans on expanding its outlets by adding around 130 more exclusive stores. “The company plans to expand the network to over 650 exclusive stores by 2021, to offer an exclusively delightful retail experience to its customers,” Vivo said.
